Introduction: Did you know that dogs can learn up to 350 words and have the same mental capacity as a three-year-old child? My best friend and roommate, Jade, and I are avid dog lovers and wish to spread our love and enthusiasm as wide as possible.
I have had pets since I was a baby and have been pet sitting for family and friends since I was a small child. I started pet sitting through Rover after moving away for college. Now, two years later, I can honestly say that the best part of my day is when I'm with the fur-babies that I have the opportunity to look after. Jade has also had pets her entire life; her favorite of which was Yorkie/Maltese mix that she got when she was in junior high. She will tell you that her favorite thing about Marcy is her spunky attitude!
We provide sitting in our home and can travel to yours; it is entirely up to you and what you feel would be best for your pal.
We also do daily dog walking for several families throughout the Riverside and Springfield area and can provide basic grooming.
Our main goal is to make sure your pet feels as comfortable as possible, and therefore, making you feel more at ease on your time away.
The majority of our experience is with dogs. However, we have taken care of birds, hamsters, fish, and even some reptiles. Jade even had a bunny and a turtle as a child!
We live in a very pet-friendly neighborhood that has a park to play fetch in! We also live in walking distance to a beautiful dog park with amazing running trails.
I have administered medicine, varying from pills to injections and have plenty of experience house training puppies and taking care of elderly pets.
Aside from showering your fur-baby with love, I also love reading and photography.
In her free time, Jade makes jewelry that she sells online and is also a manager at a local theater! Through all of the pet sitting I have done, I have noticed very specific behavior patterns and have actually developed a fascination with reading all I can on them. Not only do dogs have the same mental capacity as a three-year-old child, but the reason dogs cannot communicate with each other via barking is the exact same reason that our Neanderthal ancestors could not communicate with each other via talking!
