FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
As a basic rate I charge $150/hr for me, $50/hr extra if an assistant is required and I charge $80/hr for retouching. But those rates can vary based on the specific project and location and equipment required.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I introduce myself, then listen as they explain what they want. I ask about the goals they have for the images, what emotions they want them to express, who their intended audience is and how they might react to the images. Then I suggest ways we can accomplish their goals and outline the type of services I provide that apply to their request and suggest the next course of action. I also ask if they have sample pictures that are in the style they want. We talk about wardrobe, makeup, locations, props and answer any questions our clients have. I like to find out about their hobbies, interests, style preferences and opinions on various types of photography. We try to get to know our clients and engage them in fun, diverse conversations so we can photograph them better.
