Introduction: Nichols Field is a haven for horse enthusiasts - providing lessons for ages 6+ in balanced seat and jumping, vaulting and carriage driving. For youngsters aged 21/2 -5 we offer "PlayDate with A Pony" - a perfect introductory grooming and riding activity with one of our delightful miniature horses. The 72 acre private setting offers a relaxing opportunity to engage with horses in a natural setting. Just minutes from Minnewaska State Park. Our instructors are seasoned and enthusiastic and ensure a safe and enjoyable educational experience. Trail rides for established students only. We especially enjoy teaching beginner riders how to read the body language and other cues from horses so they can better understand how to develop a healthy relationship with them. We are also Eagala certified and offer on-the-ground activities to build social/emotional and leadership skills as well.
