- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Cooking classes and private events start at $75 per person but can vary by the type of cuisine, cooking techniques and dining requirements range from $35 - $120 per person. Small catering events requiring only appetizers or snacks can range from $15 - $20 per person.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The process begins with the type of event. A cooking class may be a specific cuisine across cultures or specific techniques such as knife skills or lessons on one or more of the seven cuissons; Dry roast, humid roast, saute, grill, fry, poach and braise. A private party or special event such as a date night, girls night out, birthday, anniversary or team building will begin with the number of attendees and menu development.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
With a degree in the culinary arts from Le Cordon Bleu Chicago, David began getting experience at notable restaurants, The Signature at the 95th floor of the John Hancock building, Avec on Chicago's restaurant rowe – Randolph street. Getting an opportunity to work closer to home and still working with high quality ingredients as well as local farmers, ranchers and foragers, David found a home at Chef Rick Star's Ad-Lib Geocafe in Lindenhurst, IL. With a hunger for more experience, Public Chicago's Pump Room provided a high level of standards, discipline and integrity.
