Introduction: My goal from the very beginning has been to create an experience for my clients that would make them want to become a lifetime client. I realize there are a lot of photographers for you to choose from so it's important to me that we're a good fit from the start. I take my time in asking the right questions and listen carefully to your needs in order to make sure I not only meet but exceed your expectations. I have had a lot of fun with Barbara when she has done shoots with us! My maternity picks were unique, and she has done great shots of our 4 legged family members as well. The products, albums and canvases, that we have gotten from her are amazing in quality.

She was great with my babies very gentle and patient. Our maternity photo shoot was so much fun. It didn't even feel like a photo shoot. It just felt like we were janging out at the park on a beautiful day. I would highly recommend Barbara for amy type of shoot you need!

Loved working with Barb! We had so much fun during the shoot and it all felt so natural. She had tons of ideas for poses and also caught lots of candid shots as well. She kept us up to date on when we’d be receiving our photos and was always available to answer any questions. I highly recommend her and would work with her again any day!

Ms. Hernandez came highly recommended by a colleague who had used her services for their events several times. I was very impressed with her professionalism and quick turn around to my many questions. As an art school, we completely appreciate that all artists should receive fair compensation for their work, but despite our budget she was able to come up with some creative options that fit our needs. On the day of the shoot she showed up a little early to check out the site and go over any last minute details. Not long after the event we received a link to our photos. We were thrilled!!! It was amazing how will she heard exactly what we wanted and captured the energy of our event and our school. She heard everything we asked and delivered beyond our expectations. The proofs were sent over in a great visual package and she got many details that many photographers tend to overlook. We have used Barbara many times since and have recommended her photography to others. She is not just a person with a fancy camera who gets lucky, she is a true photographer and artist with a vision and connection to her subjects. I wouldn't hesitate to hire her for both professional and personal events.

My maternity shoot was the first shoot I had ever had, so I was a bit nervous ahead of time but it turned out that the shoot was actually fun from beginning to end. I felt much more relaxed than I thought I would. When I got the photo album, I was stunned at how gorgeous the shots were & how there were so *many* gorgeous ones! I usually consider myself to be not photogenic, so Barbara is a miracle worker. In my maternity album I look more beautiful than ever before. We had another shoot when baby was 6 months old & again I was surprised at the sheer variety of shots Barbara got. Her years of experience have given her a huge repertoire of poses & tricks, so she gets a lot done quickly which is important with infants. My baby has unusual eyes that family & strangers alike are always complimenting. It was extremely important to me to capture his eyes, & Barbara knew that without me ever saying so - she got an incredible shot showing all of the colors in his eyes perfectly clearly. She captured the texture of his skin, and the adorable shapes of his body which has changed completely in the following year. She captured him laughing, serious, just thinking, laying down, in our arms - a true variety of looks that reflect life with our baby. Having the album is key for us because that's the only way we would actually be able to see and enjoy these incredible images. For some reason we just don't get around to printing digital files; they only live in the cloud. I treasure the albums from both shoots, and all I ever want is another shoot with her. No one else can photograph him as well as she can, and our son cooperates with her for pictures in a fluid way that just doesn't happen in a photo studio. He is so beautiful now as a young toddler, and I don't want this phase of his life to pass without Barbara recording it.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Dates will only be held with a retainer and signed contract.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When first meeting a new customer I like to ask about the job's specifics and the vision they have in mind. At times, clients are not always sure exactly about what coverage they want or need so I am able to offer suggestions based on past experience with similar jobs. I will walk them through exactly what they can expect in terms of timing and delivery of images as well as go over any products I offer in which they may be interested.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I went to school for commercial photography & have been a member of PPA for many years. I attend conferences, conventions & workshops on a regular basis & enjoy keeping up with the latest trends. I love what I do and can regularly be found reading photography magazines & books. For fun & personal projects I shoot film, which was how I initially fell in love with photography.
