FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I don't really ave a system. I look at the job & try to figure how long it will take me & the price of material if it's up to me to get it & if not, then just figure my labor as more of an hourly rate because it usually ends up being cheaper than most contractors for the customer that way. Although, sometimes customers prefer you price work per sq ft or per board ft or per linear ft. In those situations you do what the customer wants!
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to talk on the phone & in person as well. I want the customer to meet me & feel comfortable. I believe developing a working relationship with someone helps them put their faith in me & a sort of trust that gives me more confidence to show them what I'm made of & why it was good idea to go with me. I'm a people person & I was raised with manners & taught to be respectful. So by meeting with customers I trust they will see that & when it comes down to it, they'll also realize my price is fair & be very satisfied with my craftsmanship
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have 15yrs invested in multiple kinds of construction with only a few guys to teach me what I know & taking advice from others because everyone has their way of doing things & just because it's different doesn't mean it's wrong or slower. That's the only way to be good at it & remodeling takes being good at multiple aspects, interior & exterior. Being versatile will always be beneficial
