FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Because of the inherent variability of remodeling and construction, along with everchanging supplier/trade pricing, every project is priced out completely independent from one another. On larger projects, we try to establish a budget based on historical unit costs that generally end up within 10%-20% of final project cost. Should the Homeowner want our team to proceed, we move to the next pre-construction phase of further defining the cost by soliciting bids from our stable of tradesmen. Successful projects require a substantial amount of planning so a big key to success is making sure that the plans or design minimizes the amount of assumptions we must make.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Bachelors Degree in Construction Science from Texas A&M University College of Architecture. For safety preparedness, I've obtained my OSHA 30 Hr. certificationCPR/First Aid training along with 3 other certifications required during my time spent rebuilding Terminal E at DFW Airport.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I'm a 3rd generation builder, so I grew up on the job site, following Pa around. Wanting to expand my knowledge and learn the project management side of building, I enrolled in the Construction Science program at Texas A&M College of Architecture. Upon graduation, I immediately went to work for some of the biggest and most reputable commercial contractors in DFW. After helping build some of DFW's largest most recognizable projects (see linkedin profile) I decided my efforts would be best spent using what I've learned to redefine the typical Homeowner-Contractor relationship. Almost 4 years later and I haven't looked back since!
