Earl Puckett Violin Studio

Introduction: I’ve played violin for about 12 years and am a recent graduate from Georgia College & State University with a bachelor's degree in music education. At Georgia College, I played in a variety of ensembles that included The Georgia College Chamber Orchestra, The Georgia College String Quartet, The Oconee Regional Symphony Orchestra, All College Orchestra, and the Gwinnett Symphony Chamber Orchestra. I also performed in various master classes that included a variety of visiting faculty and guest artists. Not only do I have a wide amount of experience as a performer but also as a private violin instructor. While attending Georgia College, I worked in an after-school program called the Yes program. In this program, I spent my time developing a violin program at a local elementary school and mentoring the entire 3rd to 5th grade after-school student population in violin for 2 years. I also worked for the Continuing Education program at my institution to provide instruction to people in the community who sought instruction for lessons on their respective instrument for 3 years. While maintaining all of the aforementioned programs, I maintained a private violin studio of all ages as well. At Georgia College, I studied with a variety of highly sought-after violinists such as Dan J. Auerbach in violin pedagogy and chamber music as well as David H. Johnson with emphasis on solo performance and private lessons. The reason you get into music education is to develop the next set of able and prepared musical minds, and that is exactly what I want to do! There is nothing better than showing students how to love their instruments and to see the light bulbs come from the doors opening up to what their abilities can do!
