- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I always quote the client for their materials at the true cost by supplier. I do not mark materials up. The client purchases their materials. My labor is quoted per type of work requested. If a client has a small job, I can quote to do the work all inclusive at a per hour rate. I quote installation of ceiling fans, faucets, light fixtures, doors, windows, trim and moldings, plumbing, etc. as installation only rates.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I quote as close to costs as possible via email, until I meet with client. I go over the project, write an estimate and discuss what the client wants the finished work to look like. I write up a contract listing the items my quote covers. The client purchases the materials. I take a 50% deposit on the labor and begin work. At the half way point of job, a second payment of 25% is due. At finish of project the balance of contract is due. All change orders are written at the time of need and that is paid in full to proceed with initial contract.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been in the business of home improvements/ additions /moisture repair and termite damage since 1996, while also building custom homes and planned communities. I have built over 3000 homes in the Charlotte NC and surrounding areas. I have a clean BBB record.
