FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Most of the places you take your computer to will charge anywhere between $75 and $90 per hour for their work. They also do minimal work for your money. I charge $35 per hour for most work, and up to $65 per hour for laptop hardware type work. Not only am I in most cases almost a third of the price of my competition, I also do more work for the money. If you need your computer reset to factory defaults. Most places will take your money, then hand you back a computer with a fresh operating system on it in a week or so. I will hand you back a computer with a fresh operating system, all of the updates and drivers making sure everything is up to date, and I'll even install your choice of antivirus and alternative browser.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first thing I do with a new client is to make sure they understand that there is nothing I can't fix. I am literally a genius and my focus is on technology. After that I make sure I understand what the problem is with their computer. I want to make sure that I am repairing the correct thing and giving the correct information.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been fascinated with computers all of my life, and as a result I have learned a great deal about them. Not only do I have more understanding of general computing than anyone I have ever met, I also have a computer science degree. What really sets me apart from others however is my love for computers. I treat computers about like a biker treats his Harley.
