Introduction: I have six years of experience, including two years at the university level, teaching both private violin and viola lessons. Having taught students between the ages of 8 and 65, I love working with a broad range of budding violinists/violists at any age and any level. My teaching style places a large emphasis on developing proper technique and practice habits from the beginning. With a strong foundation and understanding of the techniques they are using, students are able to experiment with musicality and interpretation to have fun and find the voice they desire.

I completely recommend Amy as an violin teacher. She is an excellent teacher, is very patient, explains things very well and finds the way around to makes sure the student understands. Especially in my case that I am an adult that haven't had any music instruction since elementary school. She always provides helping tools such as websites and great exercises. You can definitely tell that she really loves teaching violin lessons!

Amy is awesome last time I played a instrument was in middle school and that was a clarinet so in terms of learning a string instrument like a violin I was nervous but Amy was always supportive, patient, and creative in her way to teaching me. I can say her neat tricks to strengthen my fingers were convenient for me as Im a student and have pencils and pens near me. I also received a lot of help and advice from her from re-learning to read music to how to work a tuner and of course how to operate my violin. I loved having Amy's help and would love to recommend other people to get her as a instructor. It was nice working with her and I'll miss her tons as I head on my solo journey to discover the violin. 😄😄😁

30 min lesson/$40 45 min/$50 60 min/$60 If traveling to your home, I add a $5 travel fee to the lesson price.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I offer a trial lesson at a reduced rate to make sure that the student/teacher combo is a good fit and what the student is looking for. After that, if all goes well, I try to schedule lessons on a weekly or bi-weekly basis.
