I have over 11 years of experiences working with adults, children/ adolescents and their families with a wide range of cognitive, behavioral and emotional issues in various settings. As your Christian Counselor I address the whole person emotionally, psychologically, socially, physically, and spiritually. I am dedicated and passionate about helping you, your youth and/or family create a more meaningful and abundant life full of purpose and wholeness.
I customize my counseling approach to pay special attention to consider individual's strengths & goals.Together we will uncover emotional, behavioral, situational and thought patterns that may be holding you, your youth and/or your family back. We will work on new ways to cope, and help you move forward to a more fulfilling life.

My encounter with Shontel Thomas was nothing short of life changing. I went to Shontel in the midst of experiencing extreme depression and anxiety. Initially I was unsure of therapy and opening up about my issues, but Shontel was extremely easy to talk to and made me comfortable about opening up. She is extremely professional, warm and made me feel like she truly understood me and cared about what I was going through. It was evident that she really wanted to see me improve and would take the time to encourage me even outside of our sessions. She was very knowledgable and gave me great exercises and tools to help me work though my issues. In a short period of time I experienced many positive changes and growth as we worked through things. Even when she relocated she continued to counsel me via phone which helped me stay on track. I continue to apply the tools that she gave me in my day to day life and it has made a great difference. Shontel's passion for helping people is evident in all that she does!

The name of the practice as well as the service rendered speaks for itself. I have received great service at this practice. The counselor is very attentive and in tune to my concerns and has helped me to build resilience, work through obstacles, and persevere through some of my most traumatic issues. Moreover, she understands things from my point of view, listens without judgment, and focuses on what is important to me. When entering the practice you will meet a humble, prayerful, and compassionate counselor that embodies the essences of a true Christian, which is also displayed in her counseling service. If you are looking for restoration and wellness this is practice is for you.

Shontel is the most compassionate and humble counselor that I have known. I have been to other counselors in my life, but I never made as much progress as I have with her. Shontel was more than a counselor she was truly a gift from God. She showed me that God will fight all of my battles and give me peace and understanding. She has helped me so much that I can even begin to explain all of the wonderful changes that I have accomplished during our time together. With God on our side she has helped me get my faith, prayer life and self-worth restored. She is always there for me no matter what. There is no doubt in my mind that God speaks to her and through her. If you are feeling stuck in life or in a place where you don’t know what to do next…Give her a call, she will get you through.

Since the first day, I felt very welcomed and comfortable to speak about my problems. I didn't feel judged and I didn't feel like I was talking to a robot. I was seeking counseling during my pregnancy and during that very emotional time, I learned to put myself first and learned to express my emotions in other ways. The counseling I received will forever stick with me and I will refer to anyone.

Not only does Ms. Thomas have insight to different situations and issues, but she obviously hears from GOD when giving spiritual tools and tactics to help overcome the challenges one may face. I'm absolutely elated to have Ms. Thomas as my Christian counselor.
