I hired One Stop Construction Solution to help repair a detached garage. The first point of contact was quick. I had someone out here looking at my garage and giving me quotes right away. I asked for several quotes ranging from minimum up to code work to fully remodeling the garage. Prices seemed very reasonable for all quotes. The first day of work was awesome! There was about 5-6 guys working on the garage. They were flying through the work but in a very professional way. They fixed holes in the roof and sides, enclosed the huge hole that was once the garage door and had full repaired and re-shingled the roof. I was very impressed...until the second day of work. One the second day only one guy came to work. I didn't think anything of it considering all the work they had done the day before. The gentleman was here for a full days of work and only put up siding. The siding was a nice color, however, my wife and I did not pick it out. We were told we'd see some samples but never did. Instead a large unmarked truck came to our house and unloaded all these boxes into our drive way. Luckily it the siding color went well with our house color. However we should have seen samples and had our opinion considered. The third day of work was worse than the second day. My wife stayed home because the contractor didn't have his own extension cord so he needed to use ours. We have an older home and had to run the extension cord from inside our basement. We were told the contractor would be at our house in the morning. He didn't show up until after lunch. When he arrived he worked for about 30 minutes then left. He came back an hour later and got back to work. He started back with siding and continue to work on it for another few hours. He started to cover up the only window we have in the garage. My wife noticed and went outside to ask how things were going. The contractor asked if we wanted the window covered with siding. She said no as that was the only window in the garage. He said that he tried to call me to get verification on if that was what was really wanted. My wife was taken back by that because she had just told him no. He worked until about 5 pm and left for the day. We faced some unexpected weather so the job was delayed for a week or so. After the weather had cleared, I had to call to make sure someone was coming out. I was told someone would be out in the morning. The next day I stayed home and again the contractor was late. I called his cellphone and got a female. I asked if he was on his way and the woman said she didn't know. He called me back and seemed upset. He said I was trying to get him in trouble with his wife by calling his phone. I told him I was just checking to see if he was actually coming. Again he showed a few hours later and left after a few hours of work. The rest of the job went okay. I had to keep a closer eye on the project because things agreed upon like waterproofing the floor and repairing interior damage we're either not getting down or were down in a lazy way. The project was finished about a month after it was started. The garage was up to code and met the city standards. However in our contract proposal, we agreed upon completion of the job all material was to be taken away and that was not fulfilled. They left a trash can, a trash can that was used for my regular trash, full of shingles, siding, and other construction material. I have frequently called to have it removed as it contains material that cannot go to the city dump and I am met with "We'll do it soon. We'll be out there next week" or "We're on another job. We'll see about fitting you in." If you want a simple fix, they are a good place to call. But if you have any big projects that need done then maybe look elsewhere. I didn't realized going into contract with One Stop Construction Solution that I'd have to babysit the works and that I didn't fully have the job completed.

Details: I have sketches and/or a basic idea of the project • Garage • Repairs to existing structure • Less than 500 sq ft • Residential
