The first time I hired Brandon, I left him a five-star review because I was very satisfied with his work. I thought then and based on that first experience, that he would be a reliable and trustworthy contractor to call upon time and again. Unfortunately, the second time I had him back, he walked off the job, leaving me with thousands of dollars worth of fragile product (too heavy for me to move) in my driveway. It was winter, snow or water would have damaged the product, and I was unable to get my car out of the garage until I arranged for someone else to come and move the product for me. Brandon left the shipping crates at the base of my driveway in the street. And these shipping crates were the size of storage sheds, just to give you an idea.
I had put Brandon on board this project literally months ahead of time so that he would be ready to go when the order was delivered on a particular day. (The product needed to be installed the same day it was delivered so that it would not be damaged by snow or water, as I had no place to store it inside. And Brandon had agreed to hold this day open for me for exactly that purpose.).
Brandon showed up that day completely unprepared, not aware of how to install the product or what materials he needed to install the products with. This, despite me putting him in direct contact with the manufacturer months earlier. He spent literally hours on my front porch the day it was delivered trying to get in touch with the manufacturer in Canada in order to find out how to install the product, despite having literally months to research this. He ended up telling me that, because half the day was gone, he could not install all of the product that day and did not know when he would be able to come back. When I reminded him that the product could not be exposed to outdoor elements and I really needed him to find time to do the install as he had promised, he yelled at me as he gathered up his things and abruptly left, cursing and yelling at me to not ever call him again. He left all of the very product that I couldn’t move myself and that couldn’t be exposed to the outside in my driveway, blocking my car inside the garage and leaving the massively big wooden shipping crates the product just been delivered in at the base of my driveway in the street. I’m a single mom, he knew I am a single mom, and he left me in a very big bind with the potential to ruin thousands of dollars worth of product I had literally saved for years to purchase.
I never heard from Brandon again.
