I have worked with RobC on a few projects for my small business. It always felt like I was working with a partner rather than a vendor. After explaining what I thought my issue was, Rob asked a series of questions to more fully grasp my workflow and determine if I was describing the actual problem or just a symptom of a larger issue. Sometimes within a couple of hours he would have a solution that was simple to use and completely got me back on track. I would highly recommend and will definitely use RobC again and again.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My main task is really to listen carefully. What a client is looking to develop is rarely articulated outright, so hearing what they are ultimately trying to create or issue they are wanting to solve is crucial. I don't really like email for these initial conversations because the communication and establishing a common vocabulary is absolutely essential to project success.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Years of professional experience working with operating systems OSX, Windows, iOS, Android. Major databases MySQL, MSSQL, Oracle, MSAccess. Popular scripting languages PHP, .NET (VB + C#), Java, jQuery. Development Models MVC.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I began my journey writing software at a young age to support the workflow of a family business, and in doing so developed a very intuitive understanding of the way in which people and software can be applied to business operations. With each successful project, I have continued to hone that insight in my professional working life.
