Word for Word Language Services
About this pro
I offer localisation services related to translation. I lived in France for 13 years and can provide you accurate translations. Also, I teach the French language so that my students will have the true French experience. I am fluent in the language and I can offer more than the academic French that we are taught in school. The language I teach is functional with the intention of helping the learning gain fluency. I love the French language and for me translation is like solving a puzzle. I enjoy rendering texts to represent the same sense as the author's intent.

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?I try to help the client stay within their budget. Typically for projects that are in languages other than French, the starts at $.17 cents per word. I hire qualified translators and to get that, you have to offer fair wages. For telephone interpreting, this all depends upon the project and the client. For in-person interpreting, the fee starts at $70.00 an hour according to the language pairs available. See website for more information.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I talk to my customer about the vision they have for their project or what their background is in language learning. Then, I either come up with a plan about what my student wants to learn or ask my client how they envision their final product. I speak with the client throughout the process in case there are any changes or amendments to the text to be made. Le client est roi! (The customer is king)
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have a bachelor's degree in French that I earned at Université Blaise Pascal in Clermont-Ferrand France. I have a Master's degree in French Literature, Language and Culture with an emphasis on Linguistics and Post Colonial Literatures. Currently, I am completing my certification at NYU University. I have taken courses in Legal Translation (Legal I and Legal II), Literary Translation, Technical Translation and Cat Tools.
