Introduction: After 25+ years as a social worker and sales & marketing professional in the medical field, I changed course to pursue a career in health and wellness. I am a holistic health coach, 200-hour RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher) registered with Yoga Alliance, Pilates comprehensive instructor, Barre instructor, Reiki Practitioner. I received my training for holistic health coaching from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN) in New York, NY. I currently teach private clients in their homes and businesses and hold a few group classes in a local studio in the Rockford, IL area. Additionally, I work with chiropractors to see their clients for functional movement exercises to help them regain strength, and flexibility for day to day activities. I also coach individuals who are eager to make a change to live a healthier lifestyle with ongoing weekly coaching sessions either on the phone or in person. My professional work experience ranges from working in the medical arena (hospitals, physician offices, clinics, non-profits, education and corporate wellness for businesses). I have worked with teenagers, young adults, adults, community groups, and professionals. I earned my bachelors degree in social work from Illinois State University. I hold a corporate wellness certification and have been honored to speak on topics to help others release stress and learn how to incorporate daily techniques into their routines. My social work skills allow me to look at the big picture and fully help people in a holistic fashion to achieve their goals rather than just looking at one elements I enjoy teaching yoga because it's first and foremost a breathing practice. A practice of being present in this busy world. I use yoga to not only build physical strength and flexibility for clients, but to bring focus and mental clarity while relieving stress. Through my teaching, I truly enjoy the transformations students make when they are committed to their practice. Everything from being more focused and performing better at home or on the job to moving more freely and not having as much pain. The weekly yoga sessions are transformative. As a coach, I collaborate with clients to develop a personal vision and form goals from there. We work together towards achieving those goals. Health and Lifestyle coaching is about creating more balance in life. It's not just about the foods you eat, or the exercises you do. It's about establishing boundaries, releasing stress, establishing a healthy mindset that will move you towards achieving your goals. Mind, body and spirit are involved in the process.

Taunia helped get me back on track after a knee injury. I’d previously taken Pilates group classes at a fitness club but much prefer Taunia’s patient and encouraging one on one sessions for beginning Yoga and upper body strengthening exercises. Her space is inviting and well equipped. Her knowledge is evident in the way she modified things to accommodate previous injuries that have left me with some limitations. If you aren’t sure if you would be comfortable with individual sessions, don’t worry! You’ll be comfortable within minutes.
