Hi Nanci, thanks for the five stars. I believe I was able to get Sal's new computer configured and set up for him to be fully functional. I also moved all of his documents from his old system to the new one, disconnected the old system, and provided some training on using the new version of Ms Word and general usage of the computer. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I prefer to charge by the quarter hour, with a minimum of one hour for IT work. Application development projects would be a fixed amount, with adjustments for scope-creep.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
Since high school, then the military, I had always been interested in electronics, then after my enlistment decided to enter the computer field.
What types of customers have you worked with?
As a consultant I've with mostly worked with small companies and home users. I was previously employed with a large wholesale nursery where I was the IT Manager.
