Introduction: I am a gigging professional musician with 6 years professional teaching experience. I have a BFA in jazz guitar from UMBC. I also have a few years of gigging experience on the mandolin.
I enjoy working with students because everyone has different interests. From teaching alone I have learned about many different styles of music and many different artists. I have experience teaching various styles of music from pop, rock, jazz, bluegrass, metal, and beginner classical. I enjoy being able to help musicians from different kinds of backgrounds.

Ryan is an outstanding teacher. Friendly, flexible, and willing to tailor lessons to the student's goals and skill level. He is great at explaining and helping me through skills I struggle with, and identifying areas where I need improvement. I was a complete beginner when I started, but after the first lesson I was practicing a song I wanted to learn. He's great with young kids too... He always humors my 4yr old with a quick 5min lesson after mine is over. I highly recommend anyone take lessons from him. Great teacher all around. You can't go wrong.
