Carolyn is an excellent language instructor. I have needed classes specifically tailored to learning more sports terminology and phrases to use for interviews. It has been super helpful to study these topics during class sessions, and go over grammar as well. The videos and language games during the sessions are also fun.

FAQs

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

We'll start with a free 30-minute phone call to talk about your goals, schedule our regular meetings, and assess your current skill level. Then, we'll meet (usually via Skype) at set times each week or month for our sessions. Homework is recommended, but totally optional!

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I earned a BA in French from the University of Virginia and a certificate in teaching English as a Foreign Language from Oxford Seminars. I have studied and worked in Hungary, France, Switzerland, and Morocco to develop my language skills. I've worked as a professional editor and translator for 5 years, with certification in proofreading and copyediting.
