Eddie was EXCELLENT! Not only did he take the time to look for the parts needed to fix our door, which took a while because it was a specific piece, but he was so kind and helpful throughout the whole process and now, our door is working perfect. We will definitely be using Eddie for many other tasks in the future and definitely recommend him to anyone in need of a great handyman. Thank you so much again, Eddie.

FAQs

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I like to start off with properly introducing myself and offer a friendly handshake. I ask the customers specific details about what they would like done; what their timeframe is or if they have a time frame, if they would like an hourly quote or a quote for the entire job. I like to finish with making sure I have answered any questions they have about me, my work experience, specialties and if they would like references. If they would like to know any information about my process or how I am going to approach the job. Quality is my highest priority, however I give 100% effort to make sure the customer is satisfied with the job. I take pride in being honest about everything that I am going to do and how everything is going to happen. And, I have a straightforward and upfront mentality so I make sure that there are no unanswered questions before I start any job and when I leave after I am finished.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have a bachelor's degree in journalism from Hawaii Pacific University and worked there for a year on a scholarship as the Photo Editor for their school newspaper. However, I recently joined the I.A.T.S.E. Local 665 union working in the Film/ T.V., stage, theatrics and entertainment industry. I have worked as a referral on nearly 100 different jobs, T.V. shows, movies, still shoots and live broadcasts for over five years. I was initiated as a member of the Union in May 2015. I have taken their first level electrical course and scored high on the test. I have worked in construction/ home remodeling on and off for over 15 years. I have many specialties yet my highest achievements have been in carpentry. I worked at Martin & MacArthur for almost a year as a furniture apprentice (building and finishing Koa furniture, lamps, clocks, chessboards, fixtures and miscellaneous gift type wood laser cut accessories). I have a lot more experience to add, ask me if you would like to know more about the different types of work I've done.

  • Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

My most recent job was working as a carpenter for the "floating lantern festival" on magic island at Ala Moana beach park. After the even was finished, I worked as a rigger first taking down all the woodwork and the disassembling the stage and all the surrounding towers. I worked on the job for five days, however the entire build and breakdown took almost two weeks.
