FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Room 926 Studios day rate for filming is $200 per person. Our post production rate is $20 an hour. Note when we work post production we tally up the total man hours and minutes taken to complete the project. This includes rough edits, small changes, and render time. We do not agree to package deals for anything under $1000. For example if a client offers $300 for a 30 second clip we will not accept that. The reason for this is because we have worked for clients in the past on projects where the client kept wanting small changes and then changed their mind after we had made the new adjustments and rendered the clips. We cannot have our hard work and time wasted on projects that should only take two days tops; which then get stretched into an entire week. Please keep in mind we also have other clients we're working for too. We will accept package deals for over $1000 depending on the complexity and feasibility of the project.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When I meet a new client I like to have a phone call with them before I meet them just to get an idea of what to expect when I meet them in person. Usually I will meet a client in a coffee shop such as starbucks which has a calm friendly atmosphere but also professional. I always come prepared with my portfolio ready to show. And we talk about what the client is looking for. Depending on what the product is I will establish what the feasibility of such a project. If the project is feasible then we discuss my rates and if the client accepts my rates we will then sign a written contract agreeing to my terms of business. We will then set a date to begin production and the client will receive my business card. Over the next few days I will contact the client with updates and recommendations for the project and they will give me their feedback. Communication is key when working with a client. It ensures the project will come out as close as possible to what they are trying to achieve. If the production happens to be wedding videography then I will give the client a few examples of different wedding videos to pick from.
