I first met Katey Trauth a little over a year ago when I decided to finally make a commitment to get in shape and lead a healthy life. I had tried several times in the past to get in shape on my own, but lacking the knowledge of how to actually achieve the results I wanted, I would eventually lose motivation and quit. Katey has an easy-going, very friendly personality and she brings a lot of positive energy to every session. That, along with her great sense of humor makes each training session a lot of fun. She has helped me learn a lot about proper nutrition as well as the correct way to exercise to avoid injury. It is easy to see that Katey really enjoys helping people and that she is very passionate about fitness. She genuinely cares about her clients and will alter the training sessions as necessary to accommodate how her clients are feeling. With Katey’s help and encouragement, I have lost 50lbs in the past year. I not only look and feel better but my energy level has also increased. I have noticed that my strength and endurance are steadily improving. I even competed in my first obstacle race this year! No matter what kind of problem I might be dealing with, Katey’s enthusiasm and positive attitude are contagious and instantly put me in a better mood and ready to workout. I now actually enjoy going to the gym and working out and I really look forward to our training sessions which are always different, challenging and a whole lot of fun! I had been lifting for 6+ years and over the course of 6 months training with Katey I completely changed my approach to working out for the better. Whether you are a veteran set in your ways or just starting out and looking for some guidance, stop what you’re doing and set up an introductory session with Katey now! Katey brings an obvious passion for fitness to each session. She was always excited to show me a new workout that she was sure would break me down and take me to the next level – which it did. During our workouts she displayed an excellent mix of focus, intensity, and light-heartedness that left you digging deep for one more rep and then being able to laugh about it five minutes later. She introduced me to several new training techniques and methods that I still incorporate into my training today. I now approach every day at the gym with more intention and have learned to set goals to keep the progress coming. This is invaluable and was the missing piece to the puzzle that I never would have learned had I not began training with her. Additionally, she exhibits excellent decision making on the fly. She was always quick to suggest alternatives or modifications if my form began to break down during a lift. I was not worried about injuries even as the intensity increased. As someone who loves working out for its own sake (I don’t compete in anything) I can’t stress enough how contagious her approach was and how it has led to further discovery on my part of the best that all types of exercise - bodybuilding, powerlifting, HIIT - has to offer.

I worked with Katey Trauth at Speer over a 5 week period in July and August of 2015 thru another fitness program, in which Katey was a strength and nutrition coach for me. I lost over 20 pounds, body fat percentage change improvement of 5%, and decreased my Cholesterol from 212 to 165! Katey was instrumental in guiding me on proper nutrition and safe exercising. Her enthusiasm and expert knowledge helped me break barriers that I have struggled with for years. She is an exceptional trainer and I highly recommend you give Katey a call!

Katey always checked in on me and encouraged me during times of weakness. She makes me excited to work out but more importantly she is teaching me sustainable ways to live a healthy lifestyle!
