FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge $60/hour or $30/half hour. I don't typically do discounts as this is an industry standard, but I can work out a payment plan. We can work out a monthly payment plan or go week by week. It's important to me that music is accessible, so I don't want payment to be what stops someone from learning a wonderful skill. Talk to me, and we'll work something out.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When I work with a new student, we start by discussing some goals and objectives before we even begin the lesson-- either on the phone or via email or text message. Then, we can begin the lesson with a full half hour to sing or play! We will start with a 5-7 minute warm-up, then I will ask you to sing a song of your choice (for a voice lesson) that we will have discussed beforehand. We will work on that for the first lesson and the gradually build up your technique and repertoire to reach your goals! For piano, we'll either start with basics, or we'll start with an assessment to get an idea of where you are so we can begin lessons from there. Regarding theory lessons, reach out to me and let me know precisely what you're struggling with. We'll meet, and you can bring any homework or worksheets you have. I'll tutor you, create additional examples, and provide context so you can ace your exam, hearing, or test!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have played piano since age 5 and I've been singing my whole life. I have a BM in Commercial Music from Belmont University as well, and I have extensive training in classical, jazz, and commercial music.
