FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Yes, my half hour visits start at $16 a visit. The national average is $18.25 for a half hour visit, but I wanted to stay in line with what others are charging here. Since we live in a rural mountain area, there may be additional fees for mileage and/or time for outlying areas. I also do 45 and 60 minute visits and tailor visits to suit my clients' needs.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When a new client contacts me I set up a brief phone consultation at which time we both determine whether the services I provide will meet my client's needs. If we decide to move forward, I set up an initial and complimentary meet and greet at the client's home, where I can meet the client and and animals which I will be caring for. Together we go over everything pertaining to the safety and well being of their animals and specific information about their feeding and care that will best keep them on their routine.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been around animals all my life, and I have volunteered for several rescue groups and other animal welfare organizations. I have been my pet sitter's pet sitter for the past two years and worked for her for some time before she suggested I start my own business. I am PetTech Animal First Aid certified and have completed several course in pet sitting, animal care, pet nutrition and basic veterinary assistant protocols. I am a member of the Animal Reiki Shelter Association and am a Healing Touch for Animals® practitioner. My greatest joy is working with animals and I find great satisfaction in taking excellent care of other people's animals while they're away.
