Introduction: I am independent and assume a fiduciary responsibility to always act in my clients' best interests. I have used Merryfield Investments for the past 3 years and am very pleased with their service . Peter Field is a seasoned , erudite, affable and very approachable investment advisor. Peter takes the time to personally meet with multiple times yearly,if required, to discuss your investment goals and risk tolerance. He manages your investments daily and constantly monitors your portfolio . You would be working with a hands on investment manager versus a large corporate investment house or bank trust department whereby you are a number and not know personally unless you have millions invested. So if you are seeking a seasoned. professional, investment manager that is hands on and will know you when you call him, please check out Peter Field and his company Merryfield Investment Managememt . Having sat on a lot of savings, I have finally made the step to start investing about 10 months ago and found Peter Field on Thumbtack. Peter has not only set up an excellent portfolio, bespoke to my needs, but has also taught me knowledge around investing as I had asked to also learn from him, with the plan to eventually take over management myself. At this stage, I feel like it's in such good hands that I am planning to leave it with Peter to manage. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
A typical client agreement based on a percentage of the assets under management. The rate varies with the size of the account and is negotiable. I have no other fees or charges except the custodian of your assets will charge you directly $8.95 per trade. There is no minimum account size. In certain cases I will forego the assets under management fee and charge an hourly fee. It all depends on what exactly I am being hired to do.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I meet with a new client and listen to their goals and needs. We discuss risk tolerance, taxes, liquidity needs and any special circumstances that should be considered. This process usually takes about an hour and there is no charge. Based on this information I will then write an investment policy statement and submit it to the client for their review and/or modification. Once we agree on a strategy I will accept the responsibility to implement it and to continually monitor and make changes to the portfolio as I deem necessary.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have over 40 years of experience in a variety of industries including more than 15 years in the investment management profession. I graduated from Dartmouth College in 1976 and earned my MBA from The Tuck School of Business in 1977.
