FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
$25 for half hour lesson in the studio (recommended for young children, early beginners, and people with learning disabilities) $40 for hour lesson in the studio (recommended for adults and more serious students) $60 for an hour lesson in your home (plus there may be additional fees for tolls). (ONLY available for residents of Westchester or New Jersey with a range of 25miles from 10033). We recommend hour-long lessons weekly for the most serious students. Students with different needs might benefit from biweekly lessons instead, but those lessons should be slightly longer and are only ideal for those who are motivated to practice extra.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
1. Complete an orientation session and assessment via telephone or via texting - identifying goals and goodness of fit. Advice on purchasing an instrument is provided at this time - potential students must have an instrument suitable for practice at the time of the first lesson. 2. Complete an in-person assessment in the studio, sign an educational contract. 3. Proceed on the educational journey! In this, one of the important elements of our work is tracking practice and maintaining accurate and regular logs of time on a daily basis.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Ten years of teaching experience and twenty years of musicianship. Also training in social work, which aids in the supportive components of the educational process.
