Emily Strong Music

Introduction: Vocal Training/ Song Writing: Emily's students will not only study vocal technique, they will have the opportunity to work towards writing and producing their very own demo of original music! Students will have digital and hard copy versions of their fully mastered songs. They will also receive karaoke versions of their tracks in case they should ever want to perform them somewhere live or for an audition! • Focus: vocal technique, music theory, song writing, song interpretation, musical theater character development, home audio recording, talent reel production and mentorship. Musical Theater/ Acting: Emily has years of experience preparing students for theater and/ or college auditions. She's been on countless auditions herself and knows just what casting directors are looking for. Emily is a pro at preparing her students to find success in this highly competitive field. Creative expression instils a lifelong feeling of confidence and self awareness. I believe that all voices can sing, and all voices have something to say! It is my honor to carefully guide my students while celebrating their unique sound and voice. Students need no prior experience, just the desire to learn and explore! All ages and experience levels are welcome! :) BIO: Emily Strong is a native of Western New York and made the move to New York City in September of 2015. She is an experienced vocal and guitar instructor, singer songwriter / composer and musical theater performer. Emily has written for and performed in a number of Rock and R&B bands over the last several years as well. In 2014, her band “The Distractions” was selected to play as opening act for legendary comedian Bob Newhart. She studied voice and acting with Broadway veterans Jan Horvath and Keith Buterbaugh. Emily also has experience and training in the visual arts ranging from drawing and painting to fashion design to media studies in music production and video works. Emily writes and records her original music and enjoys producing music videos to accompany her work as well. She is also working on an original musical. Emily has a wide range of musical influences spanning many genres. Throughout the years of practicing her craft, some of her fondest memories remain those made while creating art as a young adult, in high school and earlier. It was the time that she spent experimenting with different mediums in a safe and supportive environment that paved the way for further exploration and study. She is very passionate about offering that same support and guidance to artists of any age and skill level in a safe and nurturing environment!
