Introduction: Hi, I'm Dylan and I recently graduated with a BFA in Music at California Institute of the Arts. I have been playing guitar for 15 years and love to teach all kinds of music (from folk to pop to classical to punk to metal etc.)!
I have written music and played in several bands of varying styles that I would love to show you if you are interested. Ultimately, however, this is about you, not me. I am very patient and will do everything I can to help you become the musician you want to be! If you already have experience and want to improve, or if you haven't touched a guitar in your life an want to learn, I will gladly teach you. I love playing guitar and equally love sharing my knowledge with others!
I love teaching for several reasons. It gives me joy to see the same excitement in others that I had when I was learning guitar. It also helps me become a better guitarist by revisiting the tools that I have from a different perspective with each student.
All in all, I think music is one of the greatest things in our world, so of course I love sharing it with people!

I've had plenty of guitar teachers in the past, and while I can say something good about all of them, I genuinely mesh with Dylan as a teacher in a far greater capacity than anybody else. His technique and ability to play in various different styles is something I look up to in a guitarist, and no matter what I go to him with, he can give me something interesting to work at that's well within my level of playing. On top of that, he's funny and friendly! A great teacher for anybody at any level of skill.

Dylan is an incredibly compassionate person and teacher. My lessons with him have been going swimmingly and the amount he has opened up my mind to possibilities I would've never even considered is staggering. A truly unique perspective on how to approach the instrument and he was able to tailor the lessons to exactly what I wanted to learn, and take what I thought I wanted to know and teach me what I didn't know that I didn't know. Would absolutely recommend.

I've taught students for over 18 years (flute) and have been very impressed with Dylan's level of technical expertise, skill, patience, and ability to teach all levels. He makes lessons fun and interesting, and is also an amazing song writer and composer. He is the ONLY person I recommend to my students to learn guitar!

As a professor of music I see Dylan as a multi-talented musician who has a command of guitar and other instruments. He is also an inspiring and prolific songwriter. Dylan is a great teacher because of the mastery of his music skills. Dylan takes a personal approach to each student at their level of learning and he accomplishes this connection with patience and kindness. Dylan plays his guitar with passion and he has an uncanny ability to play in every style of music possible! I recommend Dylan unequivocally as a guitar teacher.
