Introduction: I offer services for paint parties and other events such as face painting and Mendhi (henna painting). I have experience as a versatile instructor and I love to accommodate unique situations based on the client's needs. I am flexible with media, dates, times, and image selections. My experience and background include a B.A. in Painting, a B.S. in Art Education, and an A.A.S.in Graphic Design. Although I often freelance, I currently teach Visual Art in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. Whether you're having a personal paint party at your home, or need a place to bring your party to, I can either come to you (with all of the art supplies included), or you can come to my space (up to parties of twelve). As for face painting and henna, I always travel to the event, fully prepared with supplies and choice boards. I have gained extensive work face painting by working at elementary school carnivals for the last 13 years. One of my employees, Vanessa Taurisano, has been working at India on Hope Street in Providence for the past 2 years creating henna artwork on clients there. I love to see people enjoying creative activities and I love to see people enjoying themselves while making art they can be proud of! Everyone is creative!

I've had the pleasure of hiring Melissa for a private family paint day for my family of 5. The atmosphere was beautiful and clean. Her hospitality was warm and happy. Oh yeah, and the wine, cheese, cracker, fruit and cake were good and fresh. Her step by step instuction/wonderful teaching made for amazing painting from our nine year old all the way to us adults. It was a fun and stress free experience.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
PAINT PARTIES: Art Party by Melissa accommodates people ages 8 and up with all supplies included. The prices are: 1. $40 per adult (includes 2 complimentary glasses of wine) byob as well 2. $35 per child 3. $65 per pet painting party 4. choice of paint, pencil, or chalk pastel 5. can duplicate any image 6. fundraisers are $45 a ticket, with a $15 donation from each ticket purchased FACE PAINTING: $125 for 12 children, 175 for family parties or $75 an hour for family parties over three hours. HENNA PAINTING: $75 an hour

I like to meet with my clients and provide a free consultation and assessment in order to better service their needs.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have worked with children and families since 2001, as an art teacher and I love my job! I am certified to teach all grades Art in the State of Rhode Island. I have also taught in Phoenix, Arizona. I am also a professional painter and a designer. I have a B.S. in Art Education, a B.A in Painting, and an A.A.S. in Graphic Design.
