FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My prices start out at $90.00 for a private, one hour, basic, in home session for clients within 15 miles radius of my facility. Prices increase for travel outside of the radius and for more advanced behavioral modification. I also have package deals of 3, 4 or 5 sessions allowing you to lower your cost per session and save money.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I start all my new clients with an extensive interview process. I need to know about the owner and family, their dog, their goals, their concerns and answer any questions that they might have about the training.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I started training over 25 years ago when all trainers used the traditional method of training. It incorporated a lot of punishment to get the dogs to comply. I apprenticed for 4 years with a dog trainer named Mike Schultz who was very experienced in the field having trained many working dogs for 30 years. After I felt I could go out on my own, I opened a dog training/ grooming/ boarding facility and ran that for 15 years. I decided back some years ago to learn the new technique (positive training) and attended many seminars and webinars to get a good grasp on the concepts. I attended Catch Acadamy to further my skills and was assessed by their mentor. I continue to attend many seminars and webinars to keep my skills current. I have taken and passed a very comprehensive test put out by the only entity that certifies dog trainers. I can now carry the title of certified professional dog trainer knowledge assessed (CPDT-KA) This title is held by only 2000 trainers world wide! Check out my credentials at ccpdt.com.
