FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I do not have a standard pricing system as my rates are determined upon the time and services needed.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
1) Greet clients and introduce myself and what it is that I do. 2) Provide a Style Assessment questionnaire to get a better understanding of the client and what is needed. 3) Go over the results of the Style Assessment. The results will include options of style type, an understanding of the client's body type and what will or will not work well on them and why, budget of clothing, store options, and more tips. This Style Assessment will be filed in their client folder. If a client wishes to proceed with one of the other services, the cost of the style assessment would be included in that service fee. 4) Choosing a service and paying for services: The client would purchase the service via StyleSeat (directed from the website) or via Thumbtack. StyleSeat would be ideal so that the client can view the calendar and schedule the days according to their own needs. A credit card is used to hold the place, but will NOT be charged until the first day of the service. Appointments MUST be made with a one week's notice. Anything under a week will be subjected to a rush job fee. 5) What happens after I purchase a Lookbook/Styleboard service? Lookbooks/Styleboards are usually designed according to the client's style assessment and what fits their needs. This could take up to three days (but usually sooner) depending on the number of clients scheduled. 6) What happens after I purchase the Personal Shopping experience? a) Personal Shopping One-Time/Online - If personal shopping for a one-time event, online, the client sets their own budget of $100 or more. The money is placed on a refillable Visa or Mastercard gift card that is purchased by The Curvy Express. The card number is documented and placed in the client's file. b) Personal Shopping Assisted - If personal shopping is assisted, the client is responsible for all purchases and returns made when shopping with their personal stylist. c) Personal Shopping Unassisted - If personal shopping unassisted, the client sets their own budget of $100 or more. The money is placed on a refillable Visa, Mastercard, or American Express gift card that is purchased by The Curvy Express. The personal stylist shops for the client and brings the options back to the client. Returns from unwanted items are made by the personal shopper. Should returns need to be made after the first time, the client must pick up the card and return the other items, then return the card to The Curvy Express. If the card is not returned within a two weeks, the client is charged for the gift card. The card number is documented and placed in the client's file. 7) The client leaves happy, feeling like a new woman and ready to conquer the world!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I graduated from Columbia College here in Chicago in Graphic Design, so I do have a sense of design aesthetics. I have worked in retail in my previous years providing the same customer service and experience that I now provide for my own business. I sit on the sub committee for Barbara Bates Designs, one of the Chicago's very own designers who have designed clothing for Steve Harvey, Oprah Winfrey, CeCe Winans, and more. I am currently working with Chicago's Miss Voluptuous Diva Pageant, whose winner last year has modeled for Lane Bryant and Ashley Stewart. My network has grown within a short period and I believe it is because I love what I do and I make it enjoyable for others.
