FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I usually shop at Lowe's so my material prices are based on Lowes prices. Roofing materials I get from Eagle Supply and Golden Metals. My labor costs usually are based upon the job and how long it will take as well as how many men will be needed to complete the job in a timely manner.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I started working with a jerk of a boss and he was extremely hard on me! BUT the end result was I learned everything we did! Job after job and butt chewing after butt chewing. I was showed the tricks of the trade with each job we stepped onto and because of his perfectionist mentality I had to learn the RIGHT way. So I would say my schooling and training was hands on.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
My 1st job I was hired on at was Taco Bell right out of school. When I received my 1st check I about had a stroke! lol... For 2 wks I made less than 400 dollars. That's when I chose to become a carpenter. After a back injury I became a Concert Roadie for almost 15 yrs. Then I decided to stay home and plant roots. So I came back to the coast and started the construction field. I'm well rounded in all phases of construction just don't care for electricity or plumbing! lol
