FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I am told that my pricing is very reasonable. The price depends on the number of hours ( I prefer 3 hours or more), the travel time and the amount of equipment that I need to bring. If I'm hired as a singer only, and can get your DJ to play my music from my laptop, then the price is considerably less.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My process is basically an initial phone call, followed a face-to-face meeting if the customer wants it. Then I send an email for verification of the date, time, location, etc. I then email or send by USPS regular mail, a pro-forma invoice with the terms and conditions and price of services. Over the next few weeks, as time permits, song lists, event sequencing, etc. are discussed. Phone calls and texting are available as the customer prefers. As a retired Army officer, I leave nothing to chance and plan every last detail, yet I'm very flexible and can make changes at any time, even during the event.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Many years ago, I took singing lessons from a professional voice instructor who was a full-time professor in music and voice at the University of Delaware. I have numerous training certificates in sales, customer service and the Myers-Briggs personality course were I scored as a "flaming" extravert. I also took a week-long course called The Human Interaction Laboratory. I am very computer literate and actually taught Business Computer Information Systems in a high school. My training in sound and audio engineering was mostly OJT, On The Job and working with some of the best DJs in the business for over 25 years .
