Introduction: I'm Jackii, creative director of women's eco-fashion brand, Indigo Apparel. Founded in 2012, I've spent my time mastering the tools of the trade- hand dying fabrics using low-impact dyes, and learning advanced ancient shibori and basic modern tie dye techniques. I'd be happy to offer my 12 years of sewing experience, and can provide lessons for: -Basic through intermediate pattern making, -Basic through advanced/mastery overlock/serger sewing machine (on my Brother machine) -Basic through advanced/mastery coverstitch machine (on my Bernina machine) -Basic through advanced/mastery industrial straight stitch (on my 1930s or 1970s Singer) -Basic through advanced/mastery of modern semi-computerized standard sewing machines (Janome Sew Precise with decorative stitches and buttonhole attachment) -Basic to intermediate screen printing Using only non-toxic and recycled, up-cycled, or organic materials, I am absolutely passionate about what I do, and would love to pass along technical knowledge. I think being able to make something with your own bare hands is one of the most rewarding things you can do for yourself. No lesson is too basic, and no project too small! I am constantly striving to learn ancient as well as new techniques for fabric dying, screen printing patterning, and sewing. I'd be happy to teach a specific project or general techniques. High quality sustainable clothing that looks and feels amazing. I have purchased shirts for my boyfriend and myself in the past and recently bought a beautiful bamboo maxi skirt, which Jackii hemmed to my height. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Services are based on day rate of $300, plus materials. Cost is determined by day or hourly rate to offer a project-based cost estimate.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When starting work with a new customer, I like to give a free estimate based on their initial project goals. Usually, this will include asking basic questions like what their past experience is with the techniques or machinery and where we will be working on the project. A visit to Indigo Apparel's studio space may be included the preliminary process if necessary.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
