Introduction: Olsen Editing has many components. As an Editor, I have worked on various types of manuscripts: At Binary Press, I edited collections of poetry where I created a personal dialogue with the authors and did a close line by line content edit. At Jolly Fish Press, I copy-edited and proof-read many novel-length manuscripts under strict deadlines. As Editor-in-Chief of the undergraduate journal, Metaphor, I edited a collection which contained poetry, fiction, nonfiction, and art. These multi-level editing opportunities have given me a wide scope of experience in different genres and works. As a Master-Tutor, I taught undergraduates how to work on essays and creative writing working on a range of issues from the structure to punctuation. I have experience working with ESL students as well as students with special needs. As a writer, I have had poetry, fiction, and blogs published both in print and online. My experience is matched by my passion for the written word. Every piece of writing is an opportunity to create a dialogue with the audience. Each story, poem, resume, or essay is an extension of the author. As such, I enjoy amplifying this unique voice. Polishing a piece of writing is like baking the perfect cake. The ingredients may be unique, but unless you know how to put them together, the cake will never rise. I want to make your work simmer with flavor and surprise your audience. I want to make your words sweet and savory all at once.

What you want from and editor is fawning praise. What you *need*, though, is for someone to give you the bad news about your babies, when required. I know from experience that Megan is up to the task, and has the taste and knowledge to understand what the World Out There will think about your shit way better than you probably do, you dummy. I'm glad she was there so that I can still stand about a third of the poems in that book of mine she edited -- it would have been far worse without her. And, yeah, she ain't gonna give you a headache lookin' at her, either, and she doesn't even charge extra for that.

I had a literature review of 10 pages to write and I mainly needed help with getting a good structure going so I could start the paper and keep my ideas flowing. I really got that help I needed and more, because by getting the basic help it put into place the rest of the paper. She really took the time to help me understand concepts and will go over things as many times as you need. All around I had a great experience and I recommend her to anyone who is needing help with any type of paper or writing in general.

Having another set of experienced eyes is essential in creating good art--especially written art. I had poems that needed those kinds of eyes, and Megan was a perfect fit. Megan is both experienced and has a keen eye for the rhythm, pacing and flow w/r/t poetry. She is the best kind of editor--she makes sure to tell you what goes right as much or more as what needs work. She is a true professional. She allows the work to be yours and yours alone--but helps you make it better. Highly recommended.

A very easy person to talk to. her experience in editing is outstanding. /she is willing to work WITH you rather than work for you. Her thought process seemed to be directly toward the same goal.

It was great working with Megan. She was fast and did a great job of correcting things and giving me great suggestions. I would recommend her to anyone.
