FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Every job is different. The only standard I have is that unless a job is very close, very simple, and very quick, my minimum fee is $100. Some jobs are very small and may not seem to be worth that much, but consider all the time spent on research, communication, travel, etc.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
It's very important for both parties to have clear expectations from the beginning. Nobody wins when either party isn't sure of exactly what will be done. If possible, I prefer to see the job before committing to a price. It also gives us a chance to get a feel for each other. So much of these relationships are built on trusting your instincts. That's tough to do without meeting face-to-face.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Ten years of on the job training, dealing mostly with doors & windows, roofing, painting, drywall and general carpentry.
