FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I am the owner of my company so any pricing I give is a guarantee unlike most companies you call that give “starting prices” or estimates and then send a technician who is being paid on commission and his best interest is to charge you as much as possible so he makes more money. This pretty much guarantees that I can usually offer a better price than most others because I just need to make enough for my time and expenses since I’m not being paid on commission. Like anyone, I charge a little more for emergency services than for scheduled services but again, usually not as big of a difference as most places and depends more on how far away I am at the time service is requested.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I will send estimates once I have enough info to be fairly confident in what the customer needs. In most cases the job can be completed the same day or the next day. Jobs can be scheduled out a few weeks in advance if needed and all services are provided on a mobile basis but sometimes prices can be reduced if the customer is willing and able to come to a location closer to me for services.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Aside from being state licensed as a locksmith and holding a state contractors license as well as insurance and being bonded... I have several credit hours in mechanical and architectural drafting, experience working on watches and jewelry as well as engraving so I’m used to working on things with lots of small parts. I’ve had 3 years on the job training working in emergency locksmithing for automotive, commercial, and residential services before going out on my own. I’m able to pick, bump, or drill my way into most anything taking the least destructive path possible “unless fastest is the request”... I make car keys for most models of cars and trucks and also rekey or replace ignitions and door locks as well as programming keys for vehicles. I am capable of opening and/or rekeying or producing a current key for most lock systems automotive, residential and commercial alike.
