- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I typically provide value pricing based upon the amount of work I anticipate based on the scope of the project. This way if I finish sooner, great for me, but if I take longer than expected my client doesn't end up with a larger bill. I offer a 10% discount to you as a thank you for referring me ongoing business.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
100% about initial and on-going communication. When working with numbers it is best not to assume incorrectly as there are many tax consequences. Discuss the scope of the project, clarify any outstanding items, sign a letter of engagement, at minimum monthly communications for ongoing bookkeeping services.
