Introduction: Hi! My name is Vera Alder. Thank you for your inquiry about piano lessons--such a rewarding activity for all ages! I have a degree in piano from Metro State University of Denver, and lots of experience teaching adults to play piano. Lessons are $30 forty five minutes or $40 for an hour. Let me know if you’d like to schedule a free, introductory lesson. I’m in Lindon, 1627 West 430 North. I am flexible in my teaching, not relying on just method books, but using my students' likes/dislikes to choose music. Whether it's classical or pop, we work together to make music come alive. Theory is part of the curriculum, along with learning scales and chords so students learn how the music is put together and compose music for themselves. I give all my students a chance to play piano in a nurturing environment that helps them create a musical style all their own. Degree in music and over 15 years experience teaching piano. Words can’t describe the joy that comes from teaching each student, old or young, how to play the piano. Each person is individual and learns differently. Like a jigsaw puzzle, I enjoy seeing the pieces and the person come together.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Introductory lesson (free) to meet and assess to see if we are a good fit. Give them an opportunity to play. Get feedback on what they want to learn/play. Have them play, even if it's just something they make up on the spot.
