Introduction: I'm professional pianist and a piano teacher. I currently hold a Master of Music in Piano Performance from Indiana University, Bloomington, Jacobs School of Music and an Artist Diploma from the University of Denver. I always try to adjust my teaching style to suit each student's personality, in order to to develop their fullest potential in music. I am comfortable teaching beginners, advanced, young and adult students from amateur up through a professional level. I can also teach many different styles of music including Classical, Church music, Modern, Broadway, and Popular music. Each lesson also includes developing skills in music theory, harmony, Aural training, music reading, improvising, transcribing, and CM (optional). I've been teaching for nearly18 years and have taught over 300 students. I have witnessed first hand how students grow in their musicality and love of music, and I am always amazed at all the ways music can positively affect their lives.

I have a 10-year-old daughter learning piano. Before starting with Chris Kim, I had her study with another teacher for 2 years, but the huge improvement can only be seen after she studied with Chris. He has always been patient with my daughter, corrected her hand/arm movement and helped her significantly with her technique. And of course, a good teacher would not only care about technique but also her musicality and details of the music, and for that I am so grateful to Chris for making my daughter sound much more musical. In short, I strongly recommend Chris Kim as the perfect piano teacher for you or your children. Even after the first lesson, you will already realize how lucky you are to have him as your teacher.

Chris is the best piano teacher I've ever known! He is really musical. When he teaches, he would not only teach you about the basic techniques to play a full piece out but also the tricks to make the piece more musical so that you could actually present what the piece is trying to express. He also cares about his students a lot. He uses gifts to reward the students who did a good job and keep them interested. I shopped with him once for the gifts and was amazed by how much he knew about his students when he was picking up a different gift for each student. What's more, he held the recitals for all of us at the end of each year. I had to keep practicing when I knew that I would be performing at the recital. And it was a lot of fun to see what we could do and how much progress each of us had made at the year end recital. I feel really lucky that I had Chris as my first piano teacher and I strongly recommend him to anyone who loves piano.

My son had great lessons from Chris. Chris is a fun and energetic teacher. He has a way to connect with children. He pays attention to details and helps my son pick up great form. Through Chris's instructions, my son definitely has acquired good fundamentals as well as confidence in piano playing.

Mr.Chris Kim has every possible wonderful quality as a professional piano teacher. He has lots of experience working with many students with different levels. His teaching ability has been proven by his students who have won various piano competitions. He is also a phenomenal pianist who has intensively worked with renowned pianists from all over the world and has performed internationally. Above all, he is an incredibly sweet person and everybody enjoys being around him.
