FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
$50 for a 45-minute session, $75 for a 60-minute session, and $105 for a 90-minute session at my office. Additional travel surcharge for in-home visits outside of Providence and Pawtucket.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I ask that they fill out of brief health history form in advance so I can better understand my clients' needs and any ongoing health issues. Since shiatsu is traditionally a clothes-on form of massage, I encourage them to have loose, comfortable clothing to change into, such as sweatpants.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I love practicing shiatsu massage, and have given thousands of treatments in clinical settings since my graduation from the Boston Shiatsu School in 1998. I am a Licensed Massage Therapist in Rhode Island and Massachusetts, and am Board Certified in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork. I practiced shiatsu massage for eighteen years at Harvard University Health Services, and have also worked at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates. In addition, I teach shiatsu massage and traditional Chinese medicine at the therapeutic massage program at the Community College of Rhode Island. I am a Registered Instructor in zen shiatsu with the American Organization for Bodywork Therapies of Asia, a member of the American Massage Therapy Association, and a Brown University cum laude graduate.
