- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I offer a discount when students pay for lessons by the month (usually four lessons at a time). A package of four hour-long lessons is $220, $170 for 45-min lessons, and $120 for half-hour lessons. Regular rates are $65/hr, $50 for 45 mins, and $35 for a half hour.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to give the student a few minutes to help me get to know him or her by asking questions about background as well as goals. Then we launch into vocal exercises to explore the range and aptitude of the singer. Finally, I ask them to sing a song that they love to sing so that I may assess their overall interpretive skills as well as personality. We have a great time!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been singing and performing my whole life, began studying classically at the age of 12, went on to do both bachelor's and master's degrees in music (voice)/vocal performance, and have since sung in New York, Europe, and all across the country. I have taught off and on over the years as my performing schedule has allowed. Most recently I have been studying with a Russian master technician of the old bel canto school and she has taught me some amazing foundational, pedagogical skills that give a student advanced mastery of the voice and develop its fullest potential in any style.
