- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Talk about the job on the phone at first, or through text, some people prefer one over the other. Sometimes through text you can describe things a little bit more in detail without having to do it all at once on the phone, and also send pictures. If need be, I will put my eyes on the work that needs to be done to get a better idea of what the cost will be, and what materials will be needed. And then produce a written estimate of the work needed to be done, per request of the customer.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have special training in the generator field, we (electricians) have to do continuing education every three years which involves 21 hours of classroom, and I also have over 350 hours of schooling before I sat for my Journeymans exam. The most important things in my eyes, are safety and common sense!
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Well I went through high school framing houses and fixing cars. Got out of high school and decided I wanted to fix cars, did that for a while, and then I was introduced to an electrical company by a friend of mine. I had already been familiar with the trade as I had done some "amateur" stuff when I was younger at my parents' house.
