A very pleasant and competent carpenter; could benefit from taking more time for the pre-job process. Did arrive on time as scheduled and completed work to our satisfaction. What I thought was going to be a door trim replacement (to replace rotted out trim) turned out to be a complete entry door replacement due to the fact that the framing of the door was rotted as well. To be fair, he had mentioned this possibility ahead of time, but I didn't think it was necessary as I thought the framing was part of door trim to be replaced. My only complaint would be that had he come by ahead of time for just a quick stop to inspect the project, determine materials needed, then final-quote the job, he could have arrived with the correct materials and time required to do the job and i'd have given 5 stars. Instead, the quote was loosely handled via text / email with me sending pix of the door frame condition. Project turned out to be more involved when he saw it himself, requiring a quick procurement of a whole new door unit (which cost significantly more than the amount he mentioned before running out to the local home improvement store to purchase door unit & materials). Instead of $240 plus materials ($140 mentioned for door), it was $240 plus a $220 door. This also resulted in an installation done partially in the dark of night as it took more time than planned - finish work and cleanup would probably have been cleaner if done by daylight. A bit of a rush job but as it is just a garage door it will do.

I'm very sorry to hear that you guys were not completely satisfied with the job. It's true, for smaller jobs I sometimes do not write up a full quote but rather enter into a verbal agreement with the customer. I did recommend replacing the entire door unit and in that case would have written up a quote and researched the price of the door so you guys would have a final and exact quote. Being that you guys opted to replace only the door moulding, and me knowing what that moulding was, I showed up as planned, on time, and with the correct materials. It was only after I arrived and showed you how the door frame was actually rotted and falling apart did you guys decide to replace it. Not knowing the price of the door off of the top of my head I gave you a quick estimate of $140 which turned out to be $220, and for that I apologize. As for being there after dark, it was this quick change in plans which put me a little behind. I'm very sorry the job turned into something more. If I can be of assistance in the future do not hesitate to call.

He was super friendly and did a fantastic job on the sliding glass door. I purchased the door a little smaller than what I did but Sean was able to install without a problem. I would hire him 1000 times over.

For a lot of things we have a standard pricing system. It is very important for us to meet you and go over design details and specifics of your project before giving an official quote.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
After we schedule an initial meeting to go over design elements and specifics of the project we spend a week or two researching and creating a quote for you. If you decide you would like to move forward with the project we then require a one-third down payment off of the overall cost and we schedule a start date and an estimated finish date.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We are a fully insured limited liability company.
