Introduction: Hi there! Welcome to my Thumbtack profile! Let me start by telling you a little more about myself: My name is Lauren, I am 30 years old and am actively seeking pet sitting opportunities! Cutting to the chase - my husband and I are working on starting a family and we are currently going through fertility treatments which has allowed me to step away from my full time job and focus on my passions and interests while going through my treatments. I am, of course, an all around pet enthusiast & animal lover and am looking for something extra to fill my time! My hobbies and interests include animal welfare, volunteering, interior decorating & organizing, cleaning (yes, I love to clean!) and being outdoors. We have two fur babies of our own, a 7 year old pug, Baylor, and a 13 year old cat, Teek - he is the biggest lover boy! I recently volunteered with Madison Heights Animal Control (before moving to Grosse Pointe Woods) and have experience handling dogs and cats of all sizes, administering oral medication, transporting, walking, cleaning, and of course playing. My husband and I own a home in Grosse Pointe Woods and have a fenced yard (currently in process of installing a new gate, so while our yard is fenced, we are without a gate at the moment) where your pup can run and play with my supervision. We are non smokers, and allow pets on the furniture. There is no doubt your fur babies will be treated with lots of love!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Before working with any animals I believe best practice is to do a meet and greet to make sure the animal is comfortable around me/vice versa. Please provide as much detail as possible in regard to your & your animal(s) requirements.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a volunteer with Madison Heights Animal Control and have experience handling both dogs and cats. I have also grown up with animals and have many years experience walking, feeding, cleaning, playing, bathing and administering oral medication.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have my Bachelors degree from Western Michigan University and have had the opportunity to work for some large companies within a corporate setting including The Boeing Company & Ford Motor Company. After 7 years of working in a corporate environment, I am ready to turn my passion for working with animals into a full time opportunity. Volunteering has really opened my eyes to the benefits of working with animals and I am very excited for this new venture.
