- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I offer a flat rate per hour as well as a discount if the customer purchases a set number of hours ahead of time. I do not offer refunds for those who purchase a set number of lessons ahead of time, then decide they do not want to take advantage of the tutoring time they’ve purchased. If meeting locally, there may be an additional charge, which would be discussed and agreed upon ahead of time.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to meet my prospective clients over the phone or a video program such as Skype to clarify what the student’s goals are. This may take anywhere from 10-60 minutes and there is no charge for the consultation. Then I’ll email them a simple lesson plan to review so they can get an estimate of the amount of time/lessons they will minimally need to invest to attain their goals. I will also include my pricing structure and a list of my additional free services if the student has a Smartphone and is willing to download a free app.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I work with students and Deaf colleagues everyday in the Residential Program at The Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind. My husband and I are also teaching our infant ASL at home!
