FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Don't let money keep you from talking to us! Meeting with an attorney in our office to discuss your options is free. We also offer low payment plans for attorney fees so we can focus on getting your life back. The court also charges fees for accepting the paperwork. The court fees for a Chapter 7 case are $335.00; the court fees for a chapter 13 case are $310.00. We go over how much the fees are in the first meeting so there should be no surprises later.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Most initial appointments are within three business days of reaching out to us for assistance. We talk for about an hour and discuss your financial situation and goals. We discuss all of your financial options, and you decide what course of action you want to take. If you decide asking the court for bankruptcy relief is the best option, I tell you what information and fees I need from you to start the process and what the court process will most likely look like for you. We can exchange information by email, regular mail, or by you stopping by my office.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have Bachelor's Degrees in Accounting and Finance, so helping people understand their finances comes easily to me. I did an internship with one of the bankruptcy judges while I was in law school, so I saw how the bankruptcy process worked up close. I worked for a large firm for 19 years, helping people get relief through the bankruptcy process and getting their lives back in Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 cases. I attend continuing education courses taught by professionals from all over the country to keep my skills and knowledge current.
