Introduction: My name is DeAndre Thompson Founder of 18th & 79th Design Co. I am the lead photographer/videographer also a graphic designer. I also have 2 additional photographers on staff (available for service additional fee will be added to price quote statement). We specialize in portrait, event, boudoir, wedding and corporate photography. I have shot each type of photography listed above on several occasions individually as well as collectively with my team. Every photographer brings a perspective to their work which makes them unique, our perspective is focusing on telling each individual clients story through our work. We like to converse with each client while preparing to work with them and focus on their unique qualities that will tailor each individual shoot a 1 of 1 specific to every individual client. I enjoy turning the vision of the client into a concise well produced project.

I hired 18th & 79th Design/DeAndre Thompson for a makeup modeling shoot and I was very impressed not only with his work, but the professionlism and promptness. The additional services that were offered (makeup artist, staging director, additional photographers) was well appreciated and we were able to utilize his staff to enhance our shoot. He gave me a 3-5 day turnaround for my edited images to be completed of which I agreed upon. Not only did he deliver my images within a 24 hour window, but with an additional 5 images at no additional charge. I was very pleased with him as a person and a professional and if you are looking for a nice, energetic and professional photographer I would recommend him and his staff.

DeAndre did a family photoshoot for my son and I for his 1st birthday and also took care of photography coverage for his first birthday party and I absolutely loved it! The pictures were even greater than I expected during the photoshoot he captured so many candid shots of me and my sons interactions which was very natural and beautiful, because it captured the essence of the relationship with me and my son. Before our shoot he sat down with me and asked me questions about things that I do regularly with my son for fun and he incorporated all of the aspects of our day to day life within the shoot in such a natural way. He seemingly captured every moment of enjoyment from all of the children at my son's birthday party and also added a family video from the party for our keepsake as a gift. I was beyond pleased with the service and extreme professional by him and his team!

I used 18th&79th Design for my engagement photos and wedding videographer. During our initial meeting, he asked a lot of questions about our relationship. He asked for the details of how we met, funny anecdotes that happened over the years and how he proposed. My husband and I really didn't understand the purpose of his questioning but we went along with it and answered the questions. We were beyond pleased with how our engagement photos turned out. The way he edited the photos was unlike anything I'd seen before. I was super excited to see what type of magic he was going to work with our wedding video. He did not disappoint! The answers my husband and I gave him in our initial meeting were used to turn our wedding video into a narrative of our entire relationship. 18th&79th Design went above and beyond anything I could've imagined. I will gladly recommend him to anyone who wants a magical touch placed on their photos and videos from one of the most important day of their life.

Mr. Thompson and his staff have shot several events for me and they were very professional and my pictures came out great. I'm a coach at Livingstone College and he shot several of our regular season games, our conference tournament, and he put together photo packages for our Seniors. I've recommended him to some friends who have hired him for several events (his staff shot at a club opening & red carpet event for my buddy) and I'm looking forward to continuing a working relationship with him going forward.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to meet (via face to face, telephone, email) to get an idea of who the person is that I working with, also to create an unique concept designed around the client.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I do not have any formal training or certification. Self-taught though I have studied and been advised in my learning by Tony Northrup. I also have 8 years experience as a photographer.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I am originally a graphic designer by trade/skill I outsourced a single photographer for all photography affairs for my company. Several conflicts in scheduling led me to begin my journey into photography. With several paid online courses and books researching as well as Youtube tutorials, I began my journey into photography.
