Introduction: Irene Chavez is an award-winning small business advocate, writer and community activist. She is the former Executive Director of the Maestro Entrepreneur Center, a nonprofit organization created to help prosper existing small, minority, woman and veteran owned businesses to the next level. While working for the City of San Antonio’s Economic Development Department, she was named one of the San Antonio Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 Rising Stars. Irene has also been honored with the North Chamber of Commerce’s Athena Young Professional Leadership Award. Irene is also a recently graduate of the Inaugural Latina Leadership Program hosted by the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber.
